The show stars Masataka Kubota as Light Yagami, Kento Yamazaki as L, and Mio Yūki as Near / Mello and focuses on the story of an intelligent yet reserved college student named Light Yagami, who finds a mysterious black notebook known as the Death Note, which can kill anyone whose name is written within its pages. Intrigued with the notebook's god-like abilities, he begins to use the Death Note to kill those whom he sees as unworthy of life, in a bid to change the world into a utopia. Soon, the student/vigilante finds himself pursued by an enigmatic international detective, known only as: "L".

Deka Wanko is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kozueko Morimoto. It was serialized in Japan by Shueisha in the magazine You and was collected in 12 tankōbon volumes. The series follows the adventures of Ichiko Hanamori, a young woman who, while always dressing in lolita fashion, is also a homicide detective for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police. While inexperienced and often bumbling, she solves crimes using her sense of smell, which surpasses that of the best police dog. The title refers first, to the Japanese slang term for police detective (deka), and second, to a word play on Ichiko's name. Her name in kanji is 一子, meaning "one child", but her colleagues give her the nickname "Wanko", which both combines the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "one" with "ko", and is also an affectionate term for a dog in Japanese as "wan" is also the bark of a dog.

Detective School Q is a Japanese manga series, written by Seimaru Amagi and illustrated by Fumiya Satō, originally serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine between June 2001 and August 2005, with its chapters collected in twenty-two tankōbon volumes. A forty-five episode anime television series by Pierrot was broadcast on TBS from April 2003 to March 2004.

Dol:Men X is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuna Takagi. It was serialized in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Hibana from March 2015 to April 2017, with its chapters collected in four tankōbon volumes. It was adapted into a Japanese television drama broadcast on Nippon TV in March 2018, followed by a live-action film that premiered in June of the same year.

Two anime adaptations of the manga were produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha, the first aired from October 7, 1972 to September 28, 1974 and the second aired from September 7, 1981 to March 29, 1982. A film was directed by Tsutomu Shibayama and was aired on NTV on March 20, 1982. A live-action sequel was also aired on NTV from July 11, 2015 until September 19, 2015. The anime aired subtitled in the U.S. on California's UTB. The show would also air in India starting 15 November 2021 on Hungama TV.

Hataraki Man (働きマン) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Moyoco Anno, serialized in the seinen magazine Morning since 2004. The story centers on 28-year-old Hiroko Matsukata, editor at the magazine Weekly JIDAI . Talented and hard-working, Hiroko's colleagues refer to her as Hataraki Man because of her dedication to her job. But despite her successes in the workplace, she struggles with moments of self-doubt and with the challenge of balancing life and career.

I am Mita, Your Housekeeper, known as Kaseifu no Mita in Japan, is a 2011 Japanese television drama series. The story revolves around a family who is grieving over their mother's recent death. They hired Mita as a housekeeper to upkeep the house, which has been thrown into disarray. Mita, who is played by actress Nanako Matsushima, will do anything that her employer orders her to do, except smiling or revealing her past.

In This Corner of the World is a manga series written and illustrated by Fumiyo Kōno which ran from 2007 to 2009 in Weekly Manga Action. It follows the life of Suzu Urano, a young bride with her new family living on the outskirts of Kure City during the Second World War. It was translated by JManga under the title To All the Corners of the World. After JManga closed, Futabasha published the manga digitally and made it available to read on BookWalker, a digital manga store, and app. It was later licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment for release in North America with the original title. It was adapted into a live-action television special in 2011. An anime theatrical film adaptation was released in 2016. A TV live action series was broadcast on TBS from July to September 2018.

Jimi ni Sugoi! Kōetsu Girl: Kouno Etsuko is a Japanese television drama series based on the novel by Ayako Miyagi. It premiered on NTV on October 5, 2016, starring Satomi Ishihara in the lead role. Etsuko Kouno takes a job as a proofreader, all the while aspiring to become an editor at her favorite fashion magazine. Etsuko frequently commits gaffes and errors which in the end turn out to be triumphs. The program is unusual in its use of on screen text.

Kahogo no Kahoko (過保護のカホコ) is a 2017 Japanese television drama, starring Mitsuki Takahata, Ryoma Takeuchi, Hitomi Kuroki and Saburō Tokitō. It aired on every Wednesday at 22:00 (JST) on NTV from July 12 to September 13, 2017.

Kamen Teacher is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tooru Fujisawa. It was serialized in Shueisha‘s Weekly Young Jump magazine from 2006 to 2007. A sequel manga, titled Kamen Teacher Black was published in the same magazine from 2013 to 2014. It was adapted into a live action television series in 2013 and was adapted into a live action film in 2014. The special for this film was broadcast by NTV on February 14, 2014, on Kinyou Roadshow.

Kami no Shizuku (神の雫) is a Japanese multi-awards winner television comedy series, based on the manga series Drops of God. The Kindaichi Case Files is a Japanese mystery manga series based on the crime solving adventures of a high school student, Hajime Kindaichi, the supposed grandson of the famous (fictional) private detective Kosuke Kindaichi. The Kindaichi series was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from October 1992 to October 2017, spanning a total of 76 tankōbon volumes. It is one of the earliest works in the mystery manga genre.

Ranma ½ is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from August 1987 to March 1996, with the chapters collected into 38 tankōbon volumes by Shogakukan. The story revolves around a teenage boy named Ranma Saotome who has trained in martial arts since early childhood. As a result of an accident during a training journey, he is cursed to become a girl when splashed with cold water, while hot water changes him back into a boy. Throughout the series Ranma seeks out a way to rid himself of his curse, while his friends, enemies and many fiancées constantly hinder and interfere.

Redman is a Japanese tokusatsu television series. A Kyodai Hero programme, featuring the titular hero growing to immense size and fighting similarly sized monsters. Originally broadcast as 138 five-minute segments as part of the children's variety show Ohayo! Kodomo Show on Nippon TV, it was produced by Tsuburaya Productions. Redman was initially aired between April 3, 1972, to September 8 of that same year. In 2016, Tsuburaya Productions uploaded the series to its official YouTube channel.

Remote is a manga series written by Tadashi Agi and illustrated by Tetsuya Koshiba, and published in Kodansha's Young Magazine from 2002 to 2004. The manga follows Kurumi Ayaki, the newest member of the Unsolved Crimes Division, Special Unit B.

Scrap Teacher: Kyōshi Saisei (スクラップ･ティーチャー〜教師再生〜) is a Japanese school comedy/drama series aired on NTV at 21:00-21:54 every Saturday from October 11 to December 6, 2008. It consisted of nine episodes. Scrap Teacher was produced by Yuko Hazeyama and Masahiro Uchiyama from a screenplay by Fumie Mizuhashi. Its theme song was "Mayonaka no Shadow Boy" by Hey! Say! JUMP.

Sexy Voice and Robo is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Iou Kuroda. Sexy Voice and Robo is currently unfinished. Kuroda has stated that he planned to write a continuation some day.

Published in the online manga magazine Kurage Bunch since 2018, The Way of the Househusband follows an ex-yakuza boss who retires from crime to become a househusband. The series was adapted into a live-action television drama by Nippon TV in 2020. A Netflix original net animation (ONA) anime series produced by J.C.Staff was released in April 2021. A second part of the anime was released in October 2021.

With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child is a josei drama manga by Keiko Tobe. It began serialization in 2000 in For Mrs., and serial chapters were collected in 15 tankōbon volumes by Akita Shoten. The series depicts the struggles of a young mother, Sachiko Azuma, raising her autistic son Hikaru in modern Japan. The series is licensed in English in North America by Yen Press, with eight volumes published as of September 2011.

Yūkan Club is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Yukari Ichijo. It is serialized in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret. Yūkan Club received the 1986 Kodansha Manga Award for the shōjo category. The manga was adapted into an original video animation by Madhouse Studios. It was also adapted into a Japanese television drama.

Zeni Geba (銭ゲバ) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by George Akiyama. The series was originally serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from 1970 to 1971. Shōnen Sunday was once specified as "harmful" in some prefectures when the series has started, because of its violent and drastic depiction.
