The company uses its own datacenter facilities located in Iceland with more than 10,000 servers. Easynet was a managed services provider and delivered integrated networks, hosting and unified communications services to organisations globally. The company was later renamed Easynet Global Services, and a sister company, Easynet Connect, was founded in 2008 which focused on providing internet access connectivity to small-to-medium size companies in the UK.

Emacs Web Wowser is a web browser written entirely in Emacs Lisp. It became part of GNU Emacs starting with version 24.4. If Emacs is compiled with the suitable image libraries, and is used in a graphical environment, it can render images inline directly into Emacs's display buffer. It requires an Emacs built with libxml2 support. Written by Lars Magne Ingebrigtsen, it was originally developed as part of the Emacs mail reader Gnus, to display HTML-formatted email, but with the addition of HTTP support from Emacs' url.el package it became a fully-fledged browser.

Facekoo was a social networking service created and designed by Facekoo, which targets the Chinese language market. It offers a unique way of face recognition system to connect each member in order to create a social circle. According to Alexa ranking, its page views went beyond MySpace China for a while in November 2008 and December 2008.

Favstar was an online service that tracks Twitter and Twitter usage. Favstar uses data from user "favorites" - or when a Twitter post is bookmarked (starred) by individual users. As posts, or tweets, are given more stars, specific posts move up in rankings according to different criteria, including recent posts, newer posts, and all-time favorites.

FileServe was an online file hosting service.

The Girls on Film is a web series created by Jeff Hammond, Ashleigh Harrington and Cat McCormick, directed by Hammond, and starring Harrington and a variety of guest stars. It premiered on YouTube on 20 December 2010. Each episode is around three to seven minutes long. The project recreates movie scenes originally played by men, with women taking the starring roles. The Girls on Film is listed as one of the top websites for Film Geeks in Leslie Simon's book, Geek Girls Unite: Why Fangirls, Bookworms, Indie Chicks, and Other Misfits Will Inherit the Earth.

The Google Data Liberation Front is an engineering team at Google whose "goal is to make it easier for users to move their data in and out of Google products." The team, which consults with other engineering teams within Google on how to "liberate" Google products, currently supports 27 products. The purpose of the Data Liberation Front is to ensure that data can be migrated from Google once an individual or company stops using their services.

Google Hacks: Tips & Tools for Smarter Searching is a book of tips about Google, a popular Web search engine, by Tara Calishain and Rael Dornfest. It was listed in the New York Times top ten business paperbacks in May 2003, considered at the time to be "unprecedented" for a technology book, and "even rarer" for the topic of search engines. The book was first published by O'Reilly in February 2002. Third edition of the book was released in 2006.

A guestbook is a paper or electronic means for a visitor to acknowledge a visit to a site, physical or web-based, and leave details such as their name, postal or electronic address and any comments. Such paper-based ledgers or books are traditional in churches, at weddings, funerals, B&Bs, museums, schools, institutions and other private facilities open to the public. Some private homes keep visitors' books. Specialised forms of guestbooks include hotel registers, wherein guests are required to provide their contact information, and Books of Condolence, which are used at funeral homes and more generally after notable public deaths, such as the death of a monarch or president, or after a public disaster, such as an airplane crash.

Ian "Hixie" Hickson is the author and maintainer of the Acid2 and Acid3 tests, the WHATWG HTML 5 specification, and the Pingback specification, and the early working draft of Web Applications 1.0. He is known as a proponent of Web standards, and has played a crucial role in the development of specifications such as CSS. Hickson was a co-editor of the CSS 2.1 specification.

Zach Klein is an American entrepreneur and investor, and currently the CEO of Dwell. He co-founded DIY.org, and is best known for co-founding and designing Vimeo. He created the Cabin Porn phenomenon, which was initially an online project "created by a group of friends to inspire their own homebuilding" but grew into a global phenomenon, attracting thousands of submissions from fellow cabin builders.

Panyathai was a Thai online encyclopedia started on 1 December 2006 with 80 articles, mainly in Thai. Established in honor of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the site plan was to have at least 80,000 articles by 5 December 2007, the king's 80th birthday. It contained some English content, mostly providing information about royal projects.

People of the Web was a weekly Yahoo! News feature series that profiled the faces behind the Internet. It reported on World Wide Web content creators, particularly the ones "who are really changing the political, social and religious fabric," according to the show's host, award winning journalist Kevin Sites.

Pimp That Snack is a website which received media attention during April 2006. The website features guides on creating giant versions of everyday snacks. Articles are submitted by members of the public and a voting system allows people to rate each pimp from 1 to 100.

RARBG is a website that provides torrent files and magnet links to facilitate peer-to-peer file sharing using the BitTorrent protocol. From 2014 onward, RARBG has repeatedly appeared in TorrentFreak's yearly list of most visited torrent websites. It was ranked 5th as of June 2021. The website does not allow users to upload their own torrents.

The salt and ice challenge is an Internet challenge where participants pour salt on their bodies, usually on the arm, and ice is then placed on the salt. This causes a "burning" sensation similar to frost bite, and participants vie to withstand the pain for the longest time. The challenge can be recorded and posted on YouTube or other forms of social media.

SchoolTool is a GPL licensed, free student information system for schools around the world. The goals of the project are to create a simple turnkey student information system, including demographics, gradebook, attendance, calendaring and reporting for primary and secondary schools, as well as a framework for building customized applications and configurations for individual schools or states.

Search engine cache is a cache of web pages that shows the page as it was when it was indexed by a web crawler. Cached versions of web pages can be used to view the contents of a page when the live version cannot be reached, has been altered or taken down.

Sesam was a Scandinavian internet search engine developed by the media corporation Schibsted. It was available both in a Norwegian and Swedish version and was launched on 1 November 2005. By 2007 Sesam.no had 480,000 unique users and was among the 12 largest web sites in Norway. Because of Schibsteds dominant position as a newspaper owner in Norway, the search engine has specialized in news search, including the ability to search through all published articles since 1983. The search engine was developed in cooperation with Fast Search & Transfer.

SIGAINT was a Tor hidden service offering secure email services. According to its FAQ page, its web interface used SquirrelMail which does not rely on JavaScript. Passwords couldn't be recovered. Users received two addresses per inbox: one at sigaint.org for receiving clearnet emails and the other at its .onion address only for receiving emails sent from other Tor-enabled email services. Free accounts had 50 MB of storage space and expired after one year of inactivity. Upgraded accounts had access to POP3, IMAP, SMTP, larger size limits, full disk encryption, and never expired.

SOAP with Attachments (SwA) or MIME for Web Services is the use of web services to send and receive files with a combination of SOAP and MIME, primarily over HTTP.

SOMM TV is a food and wine streaming network launched in 2019 by SOMM director Jason Wise, Christina Wise, Jackson Myers, Diane Carpenter, Brian Reshefsky and Eric Esrailian.

Spock is a vertical search engine or entity search engine on people in the US. The name "Spock" is explained with a backronym: "single point of contact (by) keyword." Founded in 2006 by Jay Bhatti and Jaideep Singh, it has "indexed over 250 million people representing over 1.5 billion data records." These records are from publicly available sources, including Wikipedia, IMDb, ESPN, LinkedIn, Hi5, MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Twitter, corporate biographies, university faculty and staff pages, real estate agents sites, school alumni and member directory pages, etc. The company maintains that "30% of all Internet searches are people-related".

Stan Lee's World of Heroes is a YouTube-funded channel on YouTube. The channel was created by Stan Lee.

StretchText is a hypertext feature that has not gained mass adoption in systems like the World Wide Web, but gives more control to the reader in determining what level of detail to read at. Authors write content to several levels of detail in a work.

StyleHaul was a marketing services, media, and technology company which gained recognition as an early pioneer of branded content and native advertising on digital platforms. The company was founded in 2011 by Stephanie Horbaczewski and operated as a portfolio company of RTL Group, which paid $127 million USD to acquire a controlling stake in the company in 2014.

Weaving the Web: The Original Design and Ultimate Destiny of the World Wide Web by its inventor (1999) is a book written by Tim Berners-Lee describing how the World Wide Web was created and his role in it.

Web callback is a technology where a person can enter his or her telephone number in a form on a web site. The company who owns that Web site will then receive the Web callback request and a call center agent will call the person who made the request back on the number they entered.

Web Science Trust

The Web Science Trust (WST) is a UK Charitable Trust with the aim of supporting the global development of Web science. It was originally started in 2006 as a joint effort between MIT and University of Southampton to formalise the social and technical aspects of the World Wide Web. The Trust coordinates a set of international "WSTNet Laboratories" that include academic research groups in the emerging area of Web science.

Webconverger is a Linux-based operating system designed solely for accessing Web applications privately and securely. Based on the Debian distro, it is able to boot live from removable media like CD-ROM or USB flash drive but can also be installed to a local hard drive. Webconverger is pre-compiled to run on any x86 hardware. It does not have high system requirements and will also run on older machines.

The science of webometrics tries to measure the World Wide Web to get knowledge about the number and types of hyperlinks, structure of the World Wide Web and using patterns. According to Björneborn and Ingwersen, the definition of webometrics is "the study of the quantitative aspects of the construction and use of information resources, structures and technologies on the Web drawing on bibliometric and informetric approaches." The term webometrics was first coined by Almind and Ingwersen (1997). A second definition of webometrics has also been introduced, "the study of web-based content with primarily quantitative methods for social science research goals using techniques that are not specific to one field of study", which emphasizes the development of applied methods for use in the wider social sciences. The purpose of this alternative definition was to help publicize appropriate methods outside of the information science discipline rather than to replace the original definition within information science.

xinmsn was an Internet portal featuring various news and entertainment information for Singapore-based users. It was launched in March 2010 as a joint venture between MediaCorp and Microsoft, and replaces the old iteration of MSN Singapore.

XML Notepad is an open-source XML editor written by Chris Lovett and published by Microsoft. The editor features incremental search in both tree and text views, drag/drop support, IntelliSense, find/replace with regular expressions and XPath expressions, and support for XInclude. The editor has good performance on large XML documents and has real time XML schema validation. The editor also features an HTML viewer for displaying XSLT transformation results and a built-in XML comparison tool.
