WVolumes 1 & 2 is the first full-length album by The Desert Sessions. It features the ten tracks found on the original 10-inch EPs.
WVolumes 3 & 4 is the second compilation of Josh Homme's project The Desert Sessions. Volume 3: Set Coordinates for the White Dwarf!!! and Volume 4: Hard Walls and Little Trips were released separately on 10-inch vinyl, and then compiled on CD with the extra track "You Keep on Talkin'".
WThis is a compilation of the fifth and sixth The Desert Sessions releases. Queens of the Stone Age later performed "You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire" on their Songs for the Deaf album, and "Rickshaw" has often been included in their live set. "Like a Drug" has been re-recorded and features on certain special editions of Lullabies to Paralyze. "I'm Dead" was recorded by Kyuss/Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri in an acoustic arrangement and retitled "Day I Die" for the Mondo Generator album A Drug Problem That Never Existed. This pair of sessions featured a wider range of musicians than previous releases, including Dwarves singer Blag Dahlia.
WThe seventh The Desert Sessions LP, titled Volume 7: Gypsy Marches, was released in 2001, packaged along with Volume 8: Can You See Under My Thumb? There You Are. in a gatefold 10" album format. The song "Hanging Tree" was later released on the Queens of the Stone Age album Songs for the Deaf.
WVolumes 7 & 8 is a compilation of the seventh and eighth releases from The Desert Sessions. The seventh volume is titled Gypsy Marches, and the eighth Can You See Under My Thumb? There You Are.. The album features appearances from Mark Lanegan, Alain Johannes, Natasha Shneider, Chris Goss, Brendon McNichol, Fred Drake, Nick Eldorado, and Joshua Homme.
WThe ninth The Desert Sessions LP, Volume 9: I See You Hearin' Me, was released in 2003, packaged along with Volume 10: I Heart Disco in a gatefold 10" album format. "I Wanna Make It wit Chu" was later released on the Queens of the Stone Age album Era Vulgaris under the title "Make It wit Chu". "Covered in Punk's Blood" has also been played by the band at live shows as seen in the live album and video Over the Years and Through the Woods. Homme has since stated that “Dead In Love” and “I Wanna Make It Wit Chu” were written for Brody Dalle "I went back to do those Desert Sessions, and you can tell what I was going through because I was writing stuff like “Dead In Love” and “I Wanna Make It Wit Chu”. I was so in love, I was totally revelling in it so much, I was a little paralysed”.
WVolumes 9 & 10 is the fifth compilation album by the hard rock ensemble The Desert Sessions, a side project of Josh Homme. It was released in 2003 on Ipecac Recordings. 9 & 10 features PJ Harvey, Ween's Dean Ween, Marilyn Manson's Jeordie White, Eleven's Alain Johannes, as well as Queens of the Stone Age's Troy Van Leeuwen and Joey Castillo.
WThe tenth The Desert Sessions LP, titled Volume 10: I Heart Disco, was released in 2003, packaged along with Volume 9: I See You Hearin' Me in a gatefold 10" album format. "In My Head...Or Something" later appeared on the Queens of the Stone Age album Lullabies to Paralyze under the title "In My Head".
WVols. 11 & 12 is the sixth compilation album by the desert rock supergroup Desert Sessions, a side project of Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. It is a compilation of the group's eleventh release, titled Arrivederci Despair and their twelfth release, titled Tightwads & Nitwits & Critics & Heels. It was released in October 2019, the group's first release after a 16-year hiatus. The album features contributions by various rock artists including Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint, Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters, Mike Kerr of Royal Blood, Carla Azar of Autolux, Les Claypool of Primus, Matt Sweeney, Matt Berry, and Libby Grace.
