Whereas McGee's earlier games, American McGee's Alice and Alice: Madness Returns, draw heavily from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters adapts the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale, throwing her into the setting of feudal Japan. It was successfully crowd-funded through Kickstarter and it was released as browser game.

Arena of Fate is a cancelled free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game developed by Crytek Black Sea. The game was announced in May 2014, closed beta began on August 5, 2015. It featured five-against-five battles with legendary heroes from history and fantasy.

Battle for Graxia was a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game developed by Petroglyph Games for Microsoft Windows. The game went open beta on Steam on November 28, 2012 in substitution of its predecessor Rise of Immortals. The game shut down on June 27, 2013.

Battlestar Galactica Online was a browser-based massively multiplayer online game (MMO) loosely based on the 2004 television series Battlestar Galactica. Released in open beta on February 8, 2011, it was developed by Bigpoint Games and Artplant using the Unity game engine for the game client in the browser. The game server was written in Erlang. In less than three months of release, the game surpassed two million registered users.

Blufr was an online trivia game launched on July 2, 2006. It was later made defunct.

Central Station was the main portal by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for PAL regions in the PlayStation 2 era.

Dawngate was a proposed multiplayer online battle arena video game developed by Waystone Games and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows. It was meant to be a free-to-play game likely to be supported by micro-transactions. News about the game began to leak during early-mid April 2013 with few details on mechanics, gameplay, or other elements. Testing period began on May 24, 2013, and the community beta was released on April 9, 2014. The open beta was released on May 19, 2014; on November 4, 2014, it was announced that because the beta was not shaping up as they had hoped, all development would stop and the game would be fully shut down in 90 days. In 2015, it became a registered trademark of EA. In June of 2020 a development team of fans reached out to EA in a means to acquire the rights to the name to release their fan remake as "Dawngate". A Kickstarter has been set up as a means of gather part of the funds required to obtain the rights and bring it back to life.

Disney Magicboard Online (迪士尼魔幻飞板) is a racing online game featuring Disney characters. This online game was released only in China on December 10, 2007. It was developed by the China game developer Shanda under license of The Walt Disney Company.

Fantastic Contraption is a Flash-based physics game created by Canadian indie developer Colin Northway, released September 16, 2008. Northway sold the rights to the game to inXile Entertainment who released the game for iOS on January 26, 2009. A sequel, Fantastic Contraptions 2, was released July 27, 2010. It was released for iOS on Nov 5, 2010. In February 2015 inXile entertainment discontinued their Sparkworkz web-games division, ending all server support for the games. Colin Northway has expressed interest in reviving the games, and potentially releasing an upgraded version.

Guardians of Middle-earth is a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The setting of the game is Middle-earth, derived from The Lord of the Rings series, with various tie-ins to the film series of the same name, as well as The Hobbit. Guardians of Middle-earth was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles on December 4, 2012, via the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade respectively. A retail package is also released, which includes a download voucher for the game as well as a "Season Pass" for future downloadable content. It is no longer available on the PlayStation Network and the servers are down as well.

H.A.V.E. Online is a Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) Third Person Shooter (TPS) cartoon-style video game. It is developed by Korean developer SK imedia. There were several versions of these games. The first version was hosted in Taiwan, followed by a Thai version. NQ Games, with Rock Hippo Productions announcing that they would publish the game for North America and Europe under the name "MicroVolts". MicroVolts shutdown permanently on 9. September 2017. There are currently no running versions of the game.

Lords of EverQuest is a 3D fantasy real-time strategy game released in December 2003. It was developed by the short-lived startup company Rapid Eye Entertainment and published by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE). SOE distributes Lords of EverQuest.

Magic: The Gathering – Tactics was an online turn-based strategy game developed by Sony Online Entertainment, and based on the Magic: The Gathering trading card game series. First announced on November 2, 2009. The game was released January 18, 2011 for the PC, February 3, 2012 on Steam,. It is presumed that a previously announced PlayStation 3 version of the game was canceled due to the game being shut down on March 28, 2014.

Massive Assault Network 2 is a massively multiplayer online game published by Wargaming. The game is a turn-based futuristic military simulation. The game is science fiction and takes place in the future, with the Free States Union vying for power against the Phantom League. Opponents square off against each other on a particular planet and fight to control all of its nations. Each player is given secret ally nations, and each nation has a limited amount of resources for building units. The game comes in both a free and subscription version. The free version provides full unit set and one level, where the subscription version provides access to several levels.

Misato Katsuragi's Reporting Plan was a Namco Bandai online game for the PlayStation 3. It was based on the anime character Misato Katsuragi from the popular Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. Utilizing a subscription-based access model, the game could be played on the PlayStation Portable through Remote Play and was released exclusively for the Japanese market.

Project TL (The Lineage) is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by NCSoft. It is part of the Lineage series and a sequel to the first Lineage game. The game was first announced and titled as Lineage Eternal in November 2011 but has suffered numerous delays in its release schedule, with the earliest beta testing planned. The first South Korea Closed Beta would begin on November 30, 2016 and end on December 04, 2016. However, NCSoft has rebooted the game as Project TL in NCSOFT Director Cut private event.

Relic Online was an online gaming system that Relic/THQ uses for matchmaking in some Relic Entertainment games, replacing its previous use of GameSpy Arcade and WON (Homeworld). Relic Online was developed by Relic/THQ and Quazal, and is completely separate from any GameSpy/WON systems. It has not been backported to older games such as Dawn of War and its expansions, but has appeared in Relic's Company of Heroes series of games. Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts introduced new features to Relic Online such as arranged team automatches, with the changes being patched into the previous Company of Heroes games as well. Relic Online was notably absent in Relic/THQ's Dawn of War II, however, which instead used a combination of Steam and Games for Windows – Live.

Tanki Online is a browser-based multiplayer free-to-play video game created and published by AlternativaPlatform. It was released on June 4, 2009. A remake of the game named Tanki X was released on April 20, 2017, but was shut down in early 2020.
