
The Slovenian Armed Forces or Slovenian Army are the armed forces of Slovenia. Since 2003, it is organized as a fully professional standing army. The Commander-in-Chief of the SAF is the President of the Republic of Slovenia, while operational command is in the domain of the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces.

The Central European Defence Cooperation (CEDC) is a military collaboration consisting of the Central European states of Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia. Poland has an observer status in this cooperative framework.

The Chief of the General Staff is the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces. That person is appointed by the President of Slovenia, who is the commander-in-chief. The current Chief of the General Staff is Major General Robert Glavaš.

The Multinational Land Force (MLF), also known as the Italian–Hungarian–Slovenian Battlegroup is an EU Battlegroup led by Italy, in which Hungary and Slovenia also participate.

The Slovene Military Orchestra is the only musical ensemble of the Slovenian Armed Forces and a unit of the General Staff of the SV in Ljubljana, being first in the order of battle in the SV. Also known by its acronym, the SAF Band, it consists musicians with mainly an academic background. Anyone who wants to play in the orchestra must have at least a 1/5 of the required level of education in the field of music, and must successfully perform at an audition. Training also includes, as with all other SV units, drill and marching precision practice.

The Slovenian Ground Force is the primary component of Slovenian Armed Forces.

The Slovenian Guards Unit is the official ceremonial honor guard unit of the President of Slovenia. Officially referred as the Guard of the Slovenian Armed Forces by SV members, the guard is a unit of the SV, consisting of the General Staff of the SV. The guard carries out many tasks of insuring that protocol in the SV is ensured.

The Slovenian National Defense Corps was an anti-Slovene Partisans military organization that was active in the territory of the Operation Zone of the Adriatic Littoral in the German-occupied portion of Italy. Although led by Anton Kokalj, it was directly subordinated to German Nazi commander Odilo Globočnik. The organization was ideologically and organizationally linked to the Slovene Home Guard that was active in Province of Ljubljana.
