
The Bangladesh Air Force, is the aerial warfare branch of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, primarily tasked with the air defence of Bangladesh's sovereign territory, and providing air support to the Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy. Additionally, the service has a territorial role of providing tactical and strategic air transport and logistics capability for the country.

Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA) is a training and education academy which provides initial training to all men and women who are preparing to be officers in the Bangladesh Air Force. The Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) is a tri-services volunteer reserve force comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force for school, college and university students.

The Chief Of Air Staff is the professional head and highest appointment of the Bangladesh Air Force. Only pilots get this post. The appointment is held by a four-star air officer and the current COAS is Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat.Prior to 2016, from 2007 the appointment was held by an Air Marshal and from 1972 to 2007 COAS's rank was Air Vice Marshal.
