
Colonel Darby Bergin was an Ontario physician and political figure. He represented Cornwall from 1872 to 1874 and from 1878 to 1882 and then Cornwall and Stormont from 1882 to 1896 in the House of Commons of Canada as a Liberal-Conservative member. He was the 1st Canadian Surgeon General.

Brock Chisholm was a Canadian psychiatrist, medical practitioner, World War I veteran, and the first director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO). He was the 13th Canadian Surgeon General and the recipient of numerous accolades, including Order of Canada, Order of the British Empire, Military Cross, and Efficiency Decoration.

Surgeon Rear-Admiral Walter John Elliot QHS, MD, CM was the 22nd Canadian Surgeon General.

Major-General Sir Marie-Joseph-Eugène Fiset, was a Canadian physician, military officer, Deputy Minister of Militia and Defence, Member of Parliament, the 18th Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, and the 3rd Canadian Surgeon General.

Major-General G.L. Foster KStJ, CB, MD, LLD, MD was the 6th Canadian Surgeon General.

Surgeon Rear-Admiral Timothy Blair McLean, CD, CStJ, QHS was the 21st Canadian Surgeon General.

Colonel J.L.H. Neilson (1845–1925) was the 2nd Canadian Surgeon General and the first to hold the appointment of Director General Medical Services.
