
Minister of Defense of the Republic of North Macedonia is a post (minister) to lead the Ministry of Defense of North Macedonia. Currently, the post is held by Radmila Šekerinska, since 2017. She succeeded Zoran Jolevski who held the office from 2014 to 2017.

Vlado Bučkovski is a former prime minister of the Republic of Macedonia, elected by parliament on 15 December 2004. He was previously the defense minister of Macedonia from May 2001 to November 2001 and from November 2002 to December 2004. He was president of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia. After the 2006 election defeat by the centre-right VMRO-DPMNE, Radmila Šekerinska took over the party's leadership.

Lazar Elenovski is a Republic of Macedonia politician, former Minister of Defence, elected on 26 August 2006. Born in Skopje, he is a graduate of the Faculty of Economy at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, and married with two children. Currently, he is a president of a small political party called Social Democratic Union (SDU). His father is Macedonian descent and his mother is of Albanian origin. He Speaks Macedonian, Albanian and Dutch.

Zoran Jolevski is a Macedonian diplomat and the former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia. Prior to his appointment as Minister of Defense, he served as Macedonia's Ambassador to the United States of America. In November 2008, he was appointed chief negotiator to the Macedonia naming dispute, and in 2011 he was appointed Ambassador to the United Mexican States and as Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States. He served as Secretary General of the late Macedonian president Boris Trajkovski from 2000–2004. He holds a Ph.D. in International Economy from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje. He is married to Suzana Jolevska, and together they have two sons, Pero (1988) and Filip (1992).

Nikola Kljusev was a Macedonian academician and politician. Kljusev served as the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia from January 27, 1991 until August 17, 1992, following the country's independence from Yugoslavia in 1991.

Radmila Šekerinska Jankovska is the current defense minister of North Macedonia and a former leader of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM). Šekerinska was previously Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and National Coordinator for Foreign Assistance of North Macedonia and also was the acting Prime Minister of North Macedonia from 12 May 2004 until 12 June 2004 and from 3 November 2004 until 15 December 2004. She was elected 5 November 2006 the SDUM leader.

Talat Xhaferi is a Macedonian politician and current President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia. He was also the former Minister of Defense.
