
The 21st European Athletics Junior Championships were held between 21 and 24 July 2011 in the Kadrioru Stadium in Tallinn, Estonia.

The 2013 Finn Gold Cup, and the official Finn World Championships, was held on Tallinn Bay, Estonia, between 23 and 31 August 2013. The hosting yacht club was Kalev Yacht Club located in Pirita.

The 2013 World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held May 12–18, 2013 in Tallinn, Estonia International Draughts Federation FMJD between the actual World Champion Alexander Georgiev (Russia) and the challenger Alexander Schwartzman (Russia). Alexander Georgiev won and became the world champion for the seven time.

The 2015 IIHF U18 World Championship Division II was a pair of international under-18 ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division II A and Division II B tournaments represent the fourth and the fifth tier of the IIHF World U18 Championship.

The 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II were the two international ice hockey tournaments organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Division II A was contested in Tallinn, Estonia and Division II B in Logroño, Spain. These tournaments represent the fourth and fifth tiers of the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

2011 Estonian Ministry of Defence attack was an attack on the Estonian Ministry of Defence building in Tallinn on 11 August 2011 by Karen Drambjan. He was shot dead in a firefight with the police, after he set off several explosives.

The 2013 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship was the 16th edition of the FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. The competition was played in Tallinn, Estonia, from 9 to 21 July 2013. For the first time competition was increased to 20 participating teams from tournament scheme of 16 teams which was introduced in 2005.

The 2018 UEFA Super Cup was the 43rd edition of the UEFA Super Cup, an annual football match organised by UEFA and contested by the reigning champions of the two main European club competitions, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. The match featured two Spanish sides, Real Madrid, the winners of the 2017–18 UEFA Champions League and the defending champions having won the previous two editions, and Atlético Madrid, the winners of the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League. It was played at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn, Estonia, on 15 August 2018, and was the first European club final held in Estonia.
