Previously, she was Vice-Rector for Research and Internationalization (2012–2016) and the Dean of the School of Human Sciences (2005–2012), of the Catholic University of Portugal.

Mercedes Blasco, pseudonym of Conceição Vitória Marques, was a popular Portuguese actor in operettas and variety shows. She was also a writer, being the first Portuguese actress to write her memoirs, a teacher, translator and journalist, as well as a volunteer nurse in World War I.

Lisbon-born Filipa Ramos is a writer and lecturer based in London. Interested in the relationships between contemporary art and cinema, her research focuses on how moving images address environmental and ecological topics and in particular on the modes in which artists’ cinema fosters interspecies relationships across humans, nonhumans and machines.
