
Edvard Beneš, sometimes anglicised to Edward Benesh, was a Czech politician and statesman who was President of Czechoslovakia from 1935 to 1938 and again from 1945 to 1948. He also led the Czechoslovak government-in-exile 1939 to 1945, during World War II. As President, Beneš faced two major crises which both resulted in his resignation.

Jan Keller is a Czech from Morava sociologist and politician, who since 2014, has been Member of the European Parliament, representing the Czech Republic. He was elected as a non-partisan for Social Democratic Party He publishes his political commentaries and essays mainly in Czech daily Právo.
Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, sometimes anglicised Thomas Masaryk, was a Czechoslovak politician, statesman, sociologist and philosopher. Until 1914, he advocated restructuring the Austro-Hungarian Empire into a federal state. With the help of the Allied Powers, Masaryk gained independence for a Czechoslovak Republic as World War I ended in 1918. He co-founded Czechoslovakia together with Milan Rastislav Štefánik and Edvard Beneš and served as its first president, and so is called by some Czechs the "President Liberator" (Czech: Prezident Osvoboditel).

Alice Masaryková or Alice Garrigue Masaryk was a Czech teacher, sociologist and politician. She is a prominent figure within the field of applied sociology and known to many as the daughter of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and the First Lady of Czechoslovakia.

Miloslav Petrusek was a prominent Czech sociologist who served as a dean of Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University in Prague between 1992–1997, as well as the prorector for academic affairs of the university in 1997–2000. For his consistent contribution to sociology and education, he received numerous awards, such as Ordre des Palmes Académiques or Golden Medal of Masaryk University. In 2012, Petrusek received The VIZE 97 Prize.

Martin Potůček is Czech university professor, public policy analyst, journalist. He studied the teleonomic qualities of differentiated social actors, processes of cultivating and utilising human potential, and factors influencing health and health policy. His research concentrates on the processes of public policy formulation and implementation in the Czech Republic. He published 23 scientific books and three textbooks.

Jiřina Šiklová is a Czech sociologist notable for her political engagement and studies of gender in the Czech Republic and other former Soviet countries. She was an active campaigner for political reform in Communist Czechoslovakia and was a signatory of Charter 77.

John Michael Steiner was a Czech-American Sociologist and Holocaust researcher.
