WThe Amazing 3, known in Japan as W3 or Wonder 3 , is a Japanese manga and a black and white anime series created by Osamu Tezuka in the 1960s. It involves the adventures of three agents from outer space who are sent to Earth to determine whether the planet, a potential threat to the universe, should be destroyed. Landing on Earth, the characters take the form of a rabbit, a horse and a duck, and make friends with a young human boy.
WAmbassador Magma is the title and protagonist of a manga and tokusatsu TV series created by Osamu Tezuka. The TV series, produced by P Productions, Seven Arts Television and Krantz Films, was aired on Fuji TV from July 4, 1966, to June 26, 1967, lasting a total of 52 episodes. It is the first color tokusatsu TV series in Japan, beating Tsuburaya Productions' Ultraman to the air by six days. The show later aired in the US, dubbed in English, as The Space Giants. Digital Manga crowdfunded the manga, and it is currently available for digital purchase on their Emanga site.
WGiatrus is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Shunji Sonoyama. It spawned two other manga, two anime television series, a television drama, and an anime film. The first TV series mark the debut of Joe Hisaishi, composer of My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. The official English title is Gon, The Stone-Age Boy.
WHarris no Kaze is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tetsuya Chiba, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 1965. It was the first manga to be reprinted as a Tankōbon in 1967 as part of the Kodansha Comics series. The story follows Kunimatsu Ishida, a troublesome school boy who continuously gets expelled from schools for fighting other students. His next school is Harris Academy, where the principal convinces him to join various sports teams. Kunimatsu channels his anger into sports while also realizing he is a great athlete.
WKamui den (カムイ伝) is a manga series written and drawn by Sanpei Shirato. Set in feudal Japan, it tells the story of a low-born ninja who has fled his clan. The series combines historical adventure with social commentary and themes of oppression and rebellion that reflect Shirato's Marxist convictions.
WKaibutsu-kun is a shōnen manga and anime series by Fujiko A. Fujio named after its protagonist. The first series was broadcast on TBS from April 21, 1968 to March 23, 1969. The second series was broadcast on TV Asahi from September 2, 1980 to September 28, 1982. A live action series was broadcast on Nippon Television and Yomiuri Television from April 17 to June 12, 2010. The anime aired in India as The Monster Kid, which is the official English title, always with 94 episodes.
WRainbow Sentai Robin is an anime and manga created by Shotaro Ishinomori. It is the first anime to feature a 5-unit superhero team. While the animation was produced by Toei Animation, it was also technically produced by Ishinomori's studio, Studio Zero, that he founded with Fujiko F. Fujio and Shinichi Suzuki. The series was also broadcast in Germany, Spain, and France. Hayao Miyazaki was a key animator on episodes 34 and 38.
