Aji Ichi Monme is a Japanese cooking manga series written by Zenta Abe and illustrated by Yoshimi Kurata. The series chronicles the lives of the staff and customers of a restaurant called Fujimura, owned by veteran chef Kumano. It was published by Shogakukan in Big Comic Superior from 1986 to 1999. After the death of author Abe in 1999, other authors have writing the scripts, and other series have been released since. The sixth series Aji Ichi Monme: Tsugi Aji began in 2018

Anmitsu Hime is a manga series by Shosuke Kurakane. The original manga was serialized between 1949 and 1955. In 1986, Izumi Takemoto retold the original manga series, releasing it under the same title and simultaneously with the anime adaptation.

The story focuses on the exploits of rivals Reinhard von Lohengramm and Yang Wen-li as they rise to power and fame in the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance respectively.

Mad Bull 34 is a manga series written by Kazuo Koike and illustrated by Noriyoshi Inoue, serialized in Shueisha's Young Jump between 1986 and 1990, and collected in 27 volumes. The series follows the violent exploits of the toughest cop in the NYPD's 34th precinct, "Sleepy" John Estes – known to his enemies as "Mad Bull" – and his partners, Daizaburo "Eddie" Ban and Perrine Valley.

Anime Sols attempted to crowd-fund the release of the show on North American DVD, but was not successful.

Phoenix is an unfinished manga series by Osamu Tezuka. Tezuka considered Phoenix his "life's work"; it consists of 12 books, each of which tells a separate, self-contained story and takes place in a different era. The plots go back and forth from the remote future to prehistoric times. The story was never completed, having been cut short by Tezuka's death in 1989. Several of the stories have been adapted into anime series and OVAs, and a live-action movie. As of 2007, the entire manga series is available in English-language translations.

Please Save My Earth , sometimes abbreviated Bokutama, is a shōjo manga by Saki Hiwatari. It was published by Hakusensha from 1986 to 1994 in the magazine Hana to Yume and collected in 21 volumes (tankōbon). The series was adapted as a six-part original video animation (OVA) in 1993. It is about six teenagers and a seven-year-old boy who share common dreams about their past lives as alien scientists who observed the Earth from the Moon. Both the anime OVA and manga are licensed for distribution in North America by Viz Media.

Rakudai Ninja Rantarō is a comedy ninja manga series created by Sōbē Amako in 1986. The anime adaptation, Nintama Rantarō, began broadcasting on NHK in 1993 and a side-story anime film Eiga Nintama Rantarō premiered in 1996. Several Nintama Rantarō video games were also published since 1995.

Shakotan Boogie (シャコタン★ブギ) is a manga by Michiharu Kusunoki, detailing the adventures of two friends interested in shakotan, the Japanese term for lowriders. While getting into trouble, picking up girls, and street racing, these two guys have a blast in the world of Shakotan.

Slow Step is a romantic comedy boxing and softball manga by Mitsuru Adachi. It was serialized by Shogakukan in the shōjo manga magazine Ciao from September 1986 through March 1991, and collected in seven tankōbon volumes. In 1991, it was adapted as a five-episode OVA. The anime version has some differences from the manga, including the ending.

It centers on a fictional police station in Sumida, Tokyo, as its officers tackle everyday criminals while keeping people safe. It mixes both drama and action with some comedy and humor.
