
Elisenda Alamany i Gutiérrez is a Spanish teacher and politician, currently serving as a member of the City Council of Barcelona. From January 2018 to April 2019 she was a deputy in the 12th Legislature of the Parliament of Catalonia. Initially part of the coalition Catalunya en Comú–Podem, she was the spokesperson for its parliamentary group from 18 January to 29 October 2018. In October 2018, she promoted the platform Sobiranistes (Sovereigntists) as a criticism of the leadership of En Comú Podem. In February 2019 she left the parliamentary group but kept her seat. On 24 February 2019, she announced the creation of the party Nova.

Caterina Albert i Paradís, better known by her penname Víctor Català, was a Catalan writer in Catalan and Spanish who participated in the Modernisme movement and was the author of one of the signature works of the genre, Solitud (Solitude) (1905). Her literary skill was first recognized in 1898, when she received the Jocs Florals prize; soon thereafter, she began using the pseudonym Victor Català, taking it from the protagonist of a novel she never finished. Despite her success as a dramatist and her forays into poetry, she is best known for her work in narrative literature, with the force of her style and the richness of her diction being especially noted. She died in her hometown of l’Escala, Catalonia, in 1966 and is interred in the Cementiri Vell de l’Escala.

Dolors Monserdà i Vidal was a Spanish writer, poet, storyteller, playwright, essayist, and columnist of Catalan descent. She was the sister of the painter Enric Monserdá i Vidal (1850-1926), and her daughter was married to the modernist architect, Josep Puig i Cadafalch.

Isabel Olid Báez, known as Bel Olid, is a Catalan writer, translator, and teacher of language, literature, translation, and creative writing. She has received several literary prizes, among them the 2010 Documenta Award. Since March 2015 she has been the president of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana.

Maria Antònia Oliver Cabrer is a Spanish writer of Catalan descent. Her work has been translated into German, English, Spanish, Galician, French, Portuguese, and Russian. She has been honored with the Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes in 2016.

She was President of the Spanish Federation of Societies of Archivists, Librarians, Documentalists and Museology (FESABID) from 2014 to 2018 and from 2017 to 2019 President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).

Irene Polo Roig was a Spanish journalist, publicist, theater representative, and translator. She was one of the first women journalists in the Catalan press. Polo, who favored labor rights, participated in the creation of "l'Agrupació Professional de Periodistes". Because of the Spanish Civil War, she lived the last three years of her life in exile in Buenos Aires, where she committed suicide at the age of 32.
