
Eduardo de la Barra (1839–1900) was a Chilean writer, diplomat and geographer. De la Barra is known for his polemics, including his opposition to what he perceived as an excessive German cultural and scientific influence in Chile. For this purpose he coined the concept of a "the German bewichment". This earned him criticism as being himself a promoter of Latin culture ("romanizer").
José Miguel Blanco Gavilán was a Chilean sculptor, illustrator and writer.

Óscar Castro Zúñiga was a Chilean writer and poet. His literary work covered both the lyrical genre and the narrative genre, much more realistic and close to the criollismo movement.

Eduardo Engel is the former President and current board member of the think tank Espacio Público and Professor at the Department of Economics of the University of Chile. From 2001 to 2012 he was Professor of Economics at the Yale University. He chaired the Presidential Advisory Council on Conflicts of Interest, Influence Peddling, and Corruption – also known as the Engel Commission – in 2015.

Mónica González Mujica is a Chilean writer and journalist. She won the Maria Moors Cabot Prize in 2002, the Dan David Prize in 2006 and UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2010. From 2005-2006 she was editor of es:Diario Siete, a daily paper in Santiago de Chile which ran for a year.

Amanda Labarca Hubertson, was a Chilean diplomat, educator, writer and feminist. Her work was directed mainly at improving the situation of Latin American women and women's suffrage in Chile.

Eliana Navarro Barahona was a Chilean poet. Her poetry was praised from an early date by literary critic Hernán Díaz Arrieta. Her poetry has been studied in various Chilean and foreign universities and her work appears in many national and foreign anthologies.

Margarita Pisano Fischer was a Chilean architect, writer, theoretician, and feminist belonging to the Movimiento Rebelde del Afuera.

José Ignacio Valenzuela also known by the nickname Chascas, is a Chilean writer and screenwriter. Author of scripts for national and foreign soap operas, among which Amor a domicilio, La familia de al lado, Dama y obrero and adaptation of Lola—, He has also participated in the development of various television, literature, film and theater projects in Chile, Mexico, United States and Puerto Rico. He has published a number of novels and short fiction, and has also served as professor and instructor of creative writing.

Diego Zúñiga is a Chilean writer and journalist. He was born in Iquique and spent his childhood there before moving to Santiago in his early teens. He studied journalism at the Pontifical Catholic University, and co-founded the publishing house Montacerdos. He has published three books till date: Camanchaca, Racimo and Niños héroes and has won numerous domestic literary prizes. In 2017, he was included in the Bogota39 list of the best young Latin American writers.
