He rose to fame in 2006 following the success of his debut album, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor. He also performs as the frontman of rock band Japanese Cartoon under his real name. As an entrepreneur, Fiasco was the chief executive officer of 1st and 15th Entertainment.

Anticon is an independent record label based in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 1998 by seven musicians and manager Baillie Parker. It is now collectively owned among six musicians, co-founder Parker, and manager Shaun Koplow. The original musicians signed to Anticon were once referred to as the Anticon collective.

Army of the Pharaohs is an American underground hip hop collective originating from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed by Jedi Mind Tricks founder Vinnie Paz in 1998. AOTP's affiliations and member roster has changed several times since its formation.

ASAP Mob is an American hip hop collective formed in 2006 in Harlem, New York, that consists of New York-based rappers, record producers, music video directors and fashion designers.

Black Cloud Music is mainly composed of Inland Empire natives including Noa James, Curtiss King, and Faimkills. Black Cloud Music is considered one of the leading independent hip-hop labels in the Inland Empire.

Black Hippy is an American hip hop supergroup from South Los Angeles, California, formed in 2008. The group is composed of West Coast rappers Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q. Black Hippy was constructed after all of its members had signed to Carson-based indie record label, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).

Boogie Down Productions (BDP) was a hip hop group, originally composed of KRS-One, D-Nice, and DJ Scott La Rock. DJ Scott La Rock was murdered on August 27, 1987, five months after the release of BDP's debut album, Criminal Minded. The name of the group, Boogie Down, derives from a nickname for the South Bronx section of The Bronx, one of the five boroughs of New York City. The group pioneered the fusion of dancehall reggae and hip hop music and their debut LP Criminal Minded contained frank descriptions of life in the South Bronx during the late 1980s, thus setting the stage for what would eventually become gangsta rap.

Siddiq Booker aka Creature is a New York City-based independent underground rapper, vocalist, writer and composer who works in the rap, hip hop, and afro-punk genres.

D-Block Europe, often abbreviated to DBE, is a British hip hop collective, consisting of Adam Nathaniel "Young Adz" Williams, Ricky Earl "Dirtbike LB" Banton and Lil Pino from Lewisham, London. Their name is a reference to The Lox. They were cosigned by the label at the beginning of 2014 to bring to life D-Block Europe. The duo rose to fame in 2017 after releasing numerous singles including "Large Amounts". Their style encompasses elements of grime, British hip hop and trap, as well as use of Auto-Tune.

Def Squad is a rap supergroup consisting of Erick Sermon, Redman, Keith Murray, Hurricane G, and Jamal. Before officially forming as a group to release an album in 1998, they had each been featured on tracks by each other. The Def Squad was formed following the disbandment of the Hit Squad, who broke up after the struggles between EPMD members Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith.

Demigodz are a hip hop collective founded by Connecticut rappers Open Mic and Reflex. The group was originally named "The Nobility" but Open Mic renamed the group "The Demigodz" with inspiration from one of his own verses. The group has changed several times through the years. As of 2012, the group consists of; Apathy, Celph Titled, Ryu, Esoteric, Motive, & Blacastan.

Maurice Samuel Young, better known by his stage name Trick Daddy, is an American rapper from Miami's Liberty City.

Ex Battalion, colloquially shortened to ExB, is a Filipino hip hop collective from Muntinlupa, Philippines primarily known for the hit singles "Hayaan Mo Sila" in 2017 and "No Games" in 2016. The group was originally formed as a rap battle group and now a hiphop collective by Bosx1ne, who mostly writes the hooks of each of their songs, alongside Flow-G. Later members included JRoa, King Badger, Brando, and O.C. Dawgs former member Skusta Clee. The collective gained prominence nationwide after releasing several hit songs in 2018 such as "Ikaw Kase" and "Follow My Lead". To date, they are dubbed as the most successful mainstream hip-hop collective in the country with a total of over 1 billion views and over 3 million subscribers on YouTube.

Halal Gang is a Canadian hip hop collective based in Toronto, Ontario. The name stems from the preponderance of the group having Muslim origins with East African and Caribbean Canadian roots. The group was established in 2010 as a group of youths from Regent Park inspired to make music. Its original carnation includes Puffy L'z. Mustafa the Poet, Mo-G, Safe and Smoke Dawg. Mo-G's infrequent involvement in Halal Gang having made videos featuring himself solely have prompted his fans to beg him to reestablish himself into the rap group.

Harrow Road Boyz (HRB), also referred to as the Mozart gang, is a British hip hop collective and street gang from Queen's Park, London. Most members of the group are from the notorious Mozart Estate located between Queens Park and Ladbroke Grove.

HBK Gang,' also known as the Heartbreak Gang, is an American hip hop record production collective based in Richmond, California, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded by Iamsu!, Chief, Skipper and P-Lo in 2008, members also include Sage the Gemini, CJ, Rossi, Dave Steezy, Jay Anthony, and Kool John. After contributing to various mixtapes and Iamsu's Kilt II in 2013, in August of that year the group released their debut mixtape Gang Forever. HBK Gang Records is the name of an associated independent record label.
Hieroglyphics, also known as the Hieroglyphics Crew and Hiero, is an American underground hip hop collective based in Oakland, California. The collective was founded in the early-1990s by rapper Del the Funky Homosapien. The collective is currently composed of rappers Del the Funky Homosapien, Casual, Pep Love, producer/manager Domino, DJ Toure, and the four individual members of the rap group Souls of Mischief: Phesto, A-Plus, Opio, and Tajai.

Ice City Boyz (ICB) is a British hip hop collective from Church End, London.

The Juice Crew was an American Hip Hop collective made up largely of Queensbridge –based artists in the mid–to–late 1980s. Founded by radio DJ Mr. Magic, and housed by Tyrone Williams' record label Cold Chillin' Records, the Juice Crew helped introduce New School artists Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shante and Kool G Rap. The crew produced many answer records and engaged with numerous "beefs" – primarily with rival radio jock Kool DJ Red Alert and the South Bronx's Boogie Down Productions, as well as the "posse cut", "The Symphony".

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League is an American record production team composed of producers and instrumentalists from Tampa, Florida. The group is made up of members Erik "Rook" Ortiz, Kevin "Colione" Crowe. The group takes their name from the DC Comics superhero team the Justice League. The distinctive producer tag of a J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League production has a female voice echoing the words "Justice League" twice at the beginning of most of their songs. They have a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album for their work on Mary J. Blige's The Breakthrough (2006).
League of Extraordinary G'z is an American hip hop group from Austin, Texas. They released their debut album #LeagueShit in 2013.

NorthernSound is the second compilation album by 6ixBuzz. It was self-released on December 13, 2019. A deluxe edition of the album with four more tracks was later released on February 25, 2020.

Odd Future, also known as Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, OF or OFWGKTA, is an American hip hop collective formed in Los Angeles in 2007. The original members are Tyler, the Creator, Hodgy, Left Brain, Casey Veggies, Brandun DeShay, The Super 3, and Jasper Dolphin. Later members included Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis, Mike G, Frank Ocean, Taco Bennett and Syd tha Kyd. Aside from music, Odd Future had an Adult Swim comedy skit show called Loiter Squad, as well as a clothing line.

The Olympicks is an American hip-hop record production and songwriting group that was formed in 2009, and is composed of members Pay Cash(PC), B.P., J-Fab, Flawless, and Knoxville. The group originated in Detroit, Michigan and have been involved in the production of various projects within the hip-hop music industry, including Lil Wayne's I Am Not a Human Being, Rick Ross' Teflon Don, Triple C's Custom Cars & Cycles, DJ Khaled's Kiss The Ring, and most recently, Big Sean's Detroit mixtape.

The Outlawz was an American hip hop group founded by rapper Tupac Shakur in late 1995 after Shakur's release from prison. Collectively, they were best known for their association with Shakur.

Prime Boys are a Canadian hip hop collective based in Toronto, Ontario. The original group carnation consists of Jay Whiss, Jimmy Prime and Donnie and the trio released their debut studio album Koba World on July 27, 2018.

Pro Era is an American hip hop collective group from Brooklyn, New York. The group is a collective of rappers and record producers that includes east coast rappers Joey Badass, CJ Fly, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, Dyemond Lewis, Aaron Rose, Dessy Hinds, Dirty Sanchez, Rokamouth, J.A.B. and Jakk the Rhymer, along with producers Chuck Strangers and Powers Pleasant. The collective was formed in 2011 by Capital STEEZ and Powers Pleasant, with Joey Badass and CJ Fly among its founding members.

Quannum Projects is a hip hop collective based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has been active since 1992, when it was formed at UC Davis under the moniker Solesides Records. It is also the name of the independent record label that releases their records, as well as those of a number of other artists. The label continues to be 100% independently owned and operated.

Rhymesayers Entertainment is an American independent hip hop record label based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was co-founded in 1995 by Sean Daley (Slug), Anthony Davis (Ant), Musab Saad and Brent Sayers (Siddiq). Beginning in 2008, Rhymesayers Entertainment sponsors the annual Soundset Music Festival, a popular attraction that takes place over Memorial Day weekend in Minneapolis. The music festival was postponed in 2020.

Cash Money is an American record label founded by two brothers, Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams. The label is distributed by Republic, which used to be Universal Republic. The label itself has been home to a roster of high-earning hip hop artists, including Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj. This led to Cash Money becoming one of the most successful record labels in hip-hop history.

Sav Killz aka Jamel Hampton is a Brooklyn, New York-based emcee, rapper and lyricist. He is part of the hip hop underground in New York City.

Sisters Keepers were initially a subset of the band Brothers Keepers, formed in the autumn of 2001 in Germany, joined a compilation album Lightkultur (WEA) by the Brothers Keepers. Appealing against racism, famous female and mainly Afro-German singers joined together with reggae, Soul music and Hip-Hop background.

Soopa Villainz is an American hip hop supergroup based in Detroit, Michigan. Formed in 2002, the group consists of Joseph Bruce, Joseph Utsler and Esham. Lavel was later added to the lineup, but left during the group's hiatus. Since 2018, the group has reverted to its original lineup. The songs of Soopa Villainz center thematically on nefarious actions conducted by comic book supervillains. The group went on hiatus in 2005. ICP announced at its 2016 GOTJ seminar that the group would be reuniting for 2017. During ICP's performance on July 21, 2018 a banner showing the groups logo was unfurled, teasing the return of the group.

The Soulquarians were a rotating collective of experimental black music artists active during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Members of the collective included singer and multi-instrumentalist D'Angelo, drummer and producer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, producer J Dilla, singer-songwriter Erykah Badu, trumpeter Roy Hargrove, keyboardist James Poyser, singer Bilal, bassist Pino Palladino, rapper-producers Q-Tip and Mos Def, and rappers Talib Kweli and Common. Prior to its formation, Q-Tip, Common, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli were members of the Native Tongues collective.

Sweatshop Union is a Canadian hip hop collective based in Vancouver, British Columbia, consisting of four politically-minded rap acts — Dirty Circus, Pigeon Hole, Kyprios and Innocent Bystanders. Known for their socially conscious lyrics, Sweatshop Union's music comments on issues ranging from the war in Iraq, the plight of the poor and working-class, to the negativity and misogyny of mainstream hip-hop.

Thug Life was an American hip hop group that consisted of 2Pac, Stretch, Big Syke, Mopreme, Macadoshis, and The Rated R. They released one album, 1994's Thug Life: Volume 1, before disbanding in 1995.

The Ultramagnetic MCs was an American hip hop group based in The Bronx, New York City, NY, United States. Founded by Kool Keith, the group also includes Ced Gee, TR Love, and Moe Love. Tim Dog became an unofficial member in 1989. In 1990, DJ Jaycee was added as a road manager and backup DJ. Big.D was put down with the crew by Kool Keith in 1989. In 1999, Big.D and D.J Moe-Love formed the group Slaughterhouse-Cartel, and in 2006, Kool Keith and Big.D formed The Commissioner. A former member, Rooney Roon, was fired following an assault arrest. Beat-boxer Rahzel was also involved with the group early in its career. The group's work was associated with unorthodox sampling, polysyllabic rhymes, and bizarre lyrical imagery.

The Weathermen was an American hip hop production group, formed in 1998 in Middletown, New York, composed of East Coast rappers and producers Cage Kennylz and Masai Bey, until further expanded into a rap group, and included; Aesop Rock, Tame One, Yak Ballz, El-P, Jakki Tha Motamouth, Camu Tao, Copywrite, Vast Aire and Breeze Brewin. The group took its name from the revolutionary organization Weatherman, and its debut album was to be called "The New Left".

Wu-Tang Clan is an American hip hop group formed in Staten Island, New York City in 1992, originally composed of RZA, GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa. An important act in the East Coast hip hop and hardcore hip hop styles, Wu-Tang Clan are regarded as a highly influential group in hip hop. Their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang , released in 1993, is considered one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time.

YBN, was an American hip-hop collective formed by Nick Simmons, who goes by the stage name YBN Nahmir. YBN was a collective of rappers, record producers, social media personalities and promoters. The collective has members from Africa, Alabama, Texas, California, Maryland, Narberth, and Connecticut.
