WB.D. Foxmoor is a Greek rapper and hip hop producer. In 1992, he founded Active Member and released the first Greek hip hop album, Diamartyria (Protest), in 1993. In 1995, when Active Member signed to a major label, Warner, and released To megalo kolpo, B.D. Foxmoor started referring to his music as low bap. He has released many solo albums as well as LPs with Active Member and has also produced many releases of other low bap artists.
WKostas Mountakis was a Greek musician who popularized the traditional music of the island of Crete, primarily with the lyra, the bowed string instrument of Crete and most popular surviving form of the medieval Byzantine lyra. His parents came from the village Kallikratis in Sfakia, Crete. His older brother Nikistratos was playing the lira and so did Mitsos Kaffatos – one of the best musicians in Rethymno at that time – who was to become Kostas’ tutor.
WAntonis Papadakis, or Kareklas (1893–1980) was a Cretan musician and famous for his superb lyra performance. He was born in Pervolia, Rethymno and started playing the lyra since he was a kid. He is considered as one of the most important lyra performers of the early 20th century. When he started playing lyra the laouto was not yet established as an accompanying instrument of the lyre in Crete. Thus, he was occasionally using the string instrument boulgari as accompanying instrument, popular at that time in the Rethymnon. Bouzouki was a typical accompanying instrument for lyra at that time.
