It was the twenty-first event under the Judgement name and the first Judgement event held outside of Tokyo. The event aired domestically on Fighting TV Samurai.

King of Pro-Wrestling (2017) was a professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), which took place on October 9, 2017, in Tokyo at Ryōgoku Kokugikan. The Lucha Libre World Cup was a two-day professional wrestling event and tournament organized by Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) with the financial backing of the Grupo Modelo brewery, with Victoria Beer as the official sponsor. The tournament took place on October 9 and October 10 in Tokyo's Shin-Kiba 1st Ring and Korakuen Hall venues, marking the first time the tournament has been held outside AAA's home country of Mexico. The 2017 edition of the tournament also marked the first to feature traditional two-man tag teams, as the previous tournaments had featured a number of three-man tag teams, referred to as trios in Lucha Libre. Rebelión de los Juniors (2017) was an annual professional wrestling major event produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), that took place on March 19, 2017 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. The focal point of the show was the Eponymous Rebelión de los Juniors tournament, a ten-man elimination match where all wrestlers were either second or third-generation wrestlers. The last surviving participant was rewarded by becoming the number one contender for the IWRG Junior de Juniors Championship held by Herodes Jr. at the time of the show.

The Crash VI Aniversario or The Crash Sexto Aniversario is a professional wrestling supercard event, scripted and produced by the Mexican lucha libre wrestling company The Crash Lucha Libre, which took place on November 4, 2017 at Auditorio Fausto Gutierrez in The Crash Lucha Libre's home town of Tijuana, Baja California. The event commemorated the creation of The Crash Lucha Libre in November 2011 and is their biggest show of the year.

The Gran Alternativa 2017 is an ongoing professional wrestling tournament event produced by the Mexican wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre that began on June 2, 2017 and will take place over three editions of CMLL's Friday night Super Viernes shows. The Torneo Gran Alternativa was first held in 1994 and is CMLL's oldest recurring tournament. The 2017 Gran Alternativa tournament will be the 22nd tournament held. In the Gran Alternativa a Novato, or rookie wrestler, team up with an experienced or "veteran" wrestler for a tag team tournament. The rookie winner is often elevated up the ranks of CMLL as a result of winning the tournament, but there is no specific "prize" for winning the tournament beyond a symbolic trophy.

Triplemanía XXV was a professional wrestling event produced and scripted by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) or Triple A. The event took place on August 26, 2017, and was held in the Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. This was the sixth consecutive Triplemanía to be held at the arena. Also, the event was the 25th year in a row that AAA had held a Triplemanía show, and the 31st show held under the Triplemanía banner since 1993. The annual Triplemanía show is AAA's biggest show of the year, serving as the culmination of major storylines and feature wrestlers from all over the world competing in what has been described as AAA's version of WrestleMania or their Super Bowl event.

It was the 26th January 4 Tokyo Dome Show, which is NJPW's biggest annual event and has been called "the largest wrestling show in the world outside of the United States" and the "Japanese equivalent to the Super Bowl".

Wrestling Dontaku 2017 was a professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). The event took place on May 3, 2017, in Fukuoka, Fukuoka at Fukuoka Kokusai Center and featured ten matches, three of which were contested for championships. The event was produced by WWE on March 31, 2017 from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The event took place the same weekend as WrestleMania 33. This was the first time the Hall of Fame ceremony was not held the night before WrestleMania instead NXT TakeOver: Orlando was held the night before WrestleMania. The event aired live on the WWE Network, and was hosted by Jerry Lawler. A condensed one-hour version of the ceremony aired the following Monday after Raw on the USA Network.
