The Actor (L'acteur) is an oil on canvas painting by Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, created in 1904.

Christmas in the Brothel is an oil-on-canvas painting by Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. The Expressionist painting was completed in 1903–04 and is housed at the Munch Museum in Oslo.

Cold Morning on the Range is an oil-based painting created by American artist Frederic Remington in 1904. The painting depicts a man on the American frontier, riding a large, brown, wild horse. The horse is obviously not trained because it is jumping and generally looking rowdy. In the background are many other men with horses, apparently on a cattle drive. Mountains are also visible in the distance, which perhaps leads the viewer to assume that this is the Goodnight-Loving Trail and the mountains are a string of the famous Sierra Nevada range.

The Finding of Moses is a 1904 painting by the Anglo-Dutch artist Lawrence Alma-Tadema. It was one of his last major works before his death in 1912, but quickly fell out of favour; according to rumour, it was sold in the 1950s for its frame. After appreciation of Victorian painting was renewed towards the end of the 20th century, it was described in an auction catalogue in 1995 as "the undisputed masterpiece of [Alma-Tadema's] last decade, as well as a late flowering of the nineteenth-century's love-affair with Egypt". It was sold to a private collector at auction in 2010 for nearly US$36 million.

Interior with Young Woman Seen from the Back is an oil-on-canvas painting from c. 1903–04 by the Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershøi. It is now held in the Randers Museum of Art. It uses the muted grey-blue palette, uncluttered composition and detailed attention to the play of light typical of Hammershøi's work.

Lady in Blue is an oil on canvas painting by Paul Cézanne, executed c. 1900, now in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Luxe, Calme et Volupté is an oil painting by the French artist Henri Matisse. Both foundational in the oeuvre of Matisse and a pivotal work in the history of art, Luxe, Calme et Volupté is considered the starting point of Fauvism. This painting is a dynamic and vibrant work created early on in his career as a painter. It displays an evolution of the Neo-Impressionist style mixed with a new conceptual meaning based in fantasy and leisure that had not been seen in works before.

Men of Industry is a 1893–1904 oil on canvas group portrait painting by Peder Severin Krøyer (1851–1909) featuring 53 leading representatives of the technical sciences in Denmark during the second half of the 19th century, seen at a fictional gathering at Østerbro Power Station in Copenhagen. The painting was commission by Gustav Adolph Hagemann and is now on display in the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle, Hillerød.

La Paloma is an oil on canvas painting by Catalan painter Isidre Nonell, created in 1904, which is exhibited at the National Art Museum of Catalonia in Barcelona.

The Pioneer is a 1904 painting by Australian artist Frederick McCubbin. The painting is a triptych; the three panels tell a story of a free selector and his family making a life in the Australian bush. It is widely considered one of the masterpieces of Australian art.

Portrait of Suzanne Bloch is a painting executed by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso in Paris in 1904, towards the end of his blue period. The subject, Suzanne Bloch, was a singer known for her Wagner interpretations, and the sister of the violinist Henri Bloch.

Theotokos of Port Arthur is an Eastern Orthodox icon, representing the Theotokos with the Mandylion and God the Father, flanked by two angels. The icon's dimensions are approximately 124×77 cm. The icon is associated with the vision of an old veteran sailor, who came to pray in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra on December 11, 1903. In his dream, the sailor reportedly saw the Virgin Mary, who warned him about the upcoming Russo-Japanese War. Mary instructed to make an exact depiction of the vision and deliver it to Port Arthur so that the Russians would gain her patronage and protection in the war.

Wounded Amazon is a 1904 painting by the German artist Franz von Stuck. It depicts a kneeling and bleeding Amazon in a battle between Amazons and Centaurs.
