The Amata is a river in Gauja National Park in the Middle Latvian Lowland. It flows from lake Kukala in Vidzeme, 66 km, to the river Gauja. The riverbanks feature Devonian red sandstone cliffs, and rapids. The River Amata is one of Latvia's fastest rivers. It has one of the deepest and most unusual valleys of all the rivers in Vidzeme, with up to 45 m high sandstone and dolomite bedrock banks.

Bārta, also named Bartuva, is a river in western Lithuania and Latvia. It originates in the Plungė district, 3 km to north of Lake Plateliai. The Bārta flows in a northwesterly direction, passing through the Skuodas district and the city of Skuodas, before entering Latvia. The Bārta flows into Liepāja lake, which is connected with the Baltic Sea. In its upper courses the valley formed by the Bārta is deep and narrow, while in its lower courses it is much wider.

The Gauja River is a river in Vidzeme, Latvia. It is the only large river of Latvia that begins and ends its flow in Latvia. Its length is 460 km, of which 1/5 or 93.5 km are in the Gauja National Park. In this part, the Gauja River flows through a spacious ancient Gauja valley, which is 1 to 2.5 km wide, and the maximum depth near Sigulda is 85 m. The sandstone rocks on the banks of the Gauja and its adjoining rivers started forming 370 to 300 million years ago during the Devonian period.

Liepupe is a river in Latvia. It is Vidzeme coastal river in the Salacgrīva and Limbažu municipalities. River source is in the Virbotne forest west of Riebezer, it then flows along the Metsepole Plain and Piejūras Lowlands. At the Prinkas village on Liepupe-Reynupe Canal, which connects Liepupe with Vitrupe. The last 3 km of the river has a large relative fall and flows into Gulf of Riga at Lembuži.
