
Taiwan is a mountainous island. The island has the largest number and density of high mountains in the world. There are 286 mountain summits over 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) above sea level on the island, with Yushan being the tallest mountain in both Taiwan and East Asia. Mountaineering is one of the most popular activities for many Taiwanese. A list of 100 Peaks of Taiwan was created in 1971, which lists the one hundred mountains over 3,000 m for mountaineering on the island. Climbing all of the one hundred mountains listed is considered the greatest challenge for Taiwanese climbers.

The Baigu Mountain is a mountain in Heping District, Taichung, Taiwan. The mountain has an elevation of 3,341 m.

The Mount Banping is a mountain in Nanzih District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Central Range Point is a mountain in Taiwan with an elevation of 3,703 m. It looks like a triangular pyramid from the north and south sides, being the south side very steep and difficult to climb. The normal climbing route comes from Nanhu Mountain. Its west side path, the normal route continuing south, is also known as the "Death Crest" due to its danger.

Cloud Peak or Yunfeng is a mountain in the Central Mountain Range of Taiwan with an elevation of 3,564 m (11,693 ft).

Dabajian Mountain is located in the northern section of the Shei-Pa National Park in Hsinchu County, Taiwan. It is surrounded by numerous other peaks, the most predominant including Mount Nanhuda, Mount Yize, Central Range Point, Mt. Pintian, and Mt. Mutule. It is also near the Madala River.

Dajian Mountain is a mountain in Heping District, Taichung, Taiwan with an elevation of 3,594 m (11,791 ft).

Dan Mountain or Danda Mountain is a mountain in Taiwan with an elevation of 3,340 m (10,960 ft).

Dasyueshan (Chinese: 大雪山; Hanyu Pinyin: Dàxuě Shān; Tongyong Pinyin: Dàsyuě Shan; Wade–Giles: Da4-hsueh3 Shan1; lit.: 'big snow mountain') is a mountain in Taiwan along the Xueshan Range with an elevation of 3,530 m (11,580 ft).

Dongjun Mountain is a mountain in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan with an elevation of 3,619 m (11,873 ft).

The Dulan Mountain is a mountain in Donghe Township and Yanping Township of Taitung County, Taiwan.

The Pa-hsien Mountain, or Eight Immortals Mountain, is a mountain in Heping District, Taichung, Taiwan. It is a branch of Mount Yu. Its height is 2,448 metres, which is around 8,000 Taiwanese feet (台尺). The pronunciation of eight thousand (baqian) and eight immortals are similar in Chinese, hence the name.

Mount Guan is a mountain in the Central Mountain Range of Taiwan with an elevation of 3,666 m (12,028 ft).

Mount Guanyin, Mount Kwan-in, or Kwaninshan is an inactive volcanic mountain in Wugu District, New Taipei City, Taiwan.

Mount Hehuan is a 3,416-metre-high (11,207 ft) mountain in Central Taiwan. The peak lies on the borders of Nantou and Hualien counties and is located within Taroko National Park. Hehuanshan is a popular destination in central Taiwan. The 3,421-metre east peak and 3,422-metre north peak of Hehuanshan are both higher than the main peak.

The Mabolasi Mountain is a mountain in Taiwan. The peak is located in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, near the border of Hualien County. It is also known as the Wulameng Mountain.

Nanhu Mountain is a mountain in Taroko National Park, Heping District, Taichung, Taiwan with an elevation of 3,742 m (12,277 ft). It is the 8th highest mountain in Taiwan.

Nenggao Mountain is a mountain in Taiwan. Its southern peak has an elevation of 3,349 metres (10,988 ft). The main peak has an elevation of 3,261 metres (10,699 ft).

Pintian Mountain is a mountain in Taiwan.

Qilai Mountain is a mountain in Xiulin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan. Its highest point of the range, the Northern Peak, is 3,607 m (11,834 ft) above sea level. It is named after the Sakizaya people.

The Shimen Mountain is a mountain in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County and Xiulin Township, Hualien County of Taiwan.

Shoushan is a mountain in Gushan District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, north of the main entrance to Kaohsiung Harbor. It was named Ape Hill by the Dutch in the 17th century to describe many monkeys on this mountain. It is also called Chaishan (柴山) and includes the Snake Hill in its northern part, and Long Life Hill (壽山) – named by Japanese in 1911-1915 for the crown-prince Hirohito – in the southern part. In some old maps, the peak of the hill is called Saracen's Head. Now it is a nature park where biological diversity can be seen.

Taiping Mountain or Taipingshan is a mountain in Datong Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. It is one of Taiwan's three major forest recreation areas. At 1,950 meters above sea level, Taiping Mountain has nurtured an environment rich in ecological resources.

The Mount Taiwu is a mountain in Jinhu Township, Kinmen County, Taiwan. It is the highest peak in Kinmen.

Taoshan, Tao Mountain is 3,325-metre-high (10,909 ft) mountain located in the north of the Wuling Farm and is one of Snow Mountains group. The mountain is ranked no No. 44 in Taiwan hicking declination scale; Borders with Ridge Jianshi, Hsinchu County, Taichung City, Heping District, Marked with Peakpoint label no. 6327. In Atayal language the mountain is known as "Babo Kaba", meaning "fist Hill". In Chinese the name translates as "Peach" mountain, due to the view from southwest side.

Taroko Mountain is a mountain in Taiwan with an elevation of 3,283 m (10,771 ft).

Wuming Mountain is a mountain in Xiulin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan with an elevation of 3,451 m (11,322 ft).
Xiangshan, also known as Elephant Mountain or Mount Elephant, is a mountain in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is close to the Taipei Metro Xiangshan Station. It is 183 m high and has a hiking trail about 1.5 km long. The Taipei 101 can be seen from the trail. The Six Giant Rocks are a tourist attraction in Xiangshan, and there are platforms for photographers.
Xiangyang Mountain is a mountain in Kaohsiung, Taiwan with an elevation of 3,603 m (11,821 ft).
Xiuguluan Mountain or Xiuguluanshan is a mountain in Taiwan in Yushan National Park with an elevation of 3,825 m. It is located in Hualien County by the Xiuguluan River which has many tributaries such as Fuyuan River, Fengping River, and Lekuleku River, all nearby the river basin.

Xueshan, formerly known as Mount Sylvia and by other names, is a mountain in the Heping District of Taichung, Taiwan. It is the 2nd-highest mountain in Taiwan and in East Asia, at 3,886 m (12,749 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Shei-Pa National Park and is visible in good weather from hills near Taiwan's capital Taipei.

Yu Shan or Yushan, also known as Mount Jade, Jade Mountain, or Mount Yu, and known as Mount Niitaka during Japanese rule, is the highest mountain on Taiwan at 3,952 m (12,966 ft) above sea level, giving Taiwan the 4th-highest maximum elevation of any island in the world. It is the highest point in the western Pacific region outside of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Yushan and surrounding mountains belong to Yushan Range. The area was once in the ocean; it rose to its current height because of the Eurasian Plate's movement over the Philippine Sea Plate.

The Yuntai Mountain is a mountain in Nangan Township, Lienchiang County, Taiwan. It is the highest point in Nangan.

Mount Zhuzi, also called Zhuzi Shan Qianfeng, is a mountain in Sanzhi District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Located on the Tatun Volcano Group, it stands at 1,094 m, making it the tallest peak in the city.
