The Aheloy River or Achelous is a river in eastern Bulgaria. It originates in the Aytos-Karnobat mountain, 1.5 kilometres from Dryankovets, and flows directly into the Black Sea south of the village of Aheloy. The Aheloy River has a length of 39.9 kilometres and has an irrigation reservoir, the Aheloy Reservoir, built along its flow. The river's drainage basin covers 141 square kilometres and its average discharge is 0.7 cubic metres per second.

The Matsesta is a river in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, that flows into the Black Sea. The river rises in the southern ranges of the Alek mountains at an elevation of 900 metres (3,000 ft) above sea level and flows through the Khostinsky City District of the city of Sochi and into the Black Sea. It is 18 kilometres (11 mi) long, and has a drainage basin of 67.5 square kilometres (26.1 sq mi). The highest point in the river's basin is 1,003 metres (3,291 ft) above sea level. The river has numerous tributaries, the largest of which are the Tsanyk and Zmeyka.

The length of the river is 150 kilometres (93 mi), and the area of its drainage basin is 1,860 square kilometres (720 sq mi). The urban-type settlements of Shyriaieve and Ivanivka are located on the banks of the Velykyi Kuyalnik.
