Green Island, also known by other names, is a small volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean about 33 km (21 mi) off the eastern coast of Taiwan. It is 15.092 km2 (5.83 sq mi) at high tide and 17.329 km2 (6.69 sq mi) at low tide, making it the Republic of China's seventh-largest island. The island is administered as Lüdao Township, a rural township of Taitung County and one of the county's two offshore areas. The island once served as a penal colony for political prisoners during Taiwan's period of martial law, although today it is primarily known as a tourist hotspot.

The Coastal Mountain Range, also known as the Hai'an Range, is a mountain range situated on the eastern coast of the island of Taiwan, and spans the border between Hualien and Taitung Counties. The Coastal Mountain Range is the northern portion of the Luzon Arc but do not present current volcanic activity. Its geology is mainly composed of a Miocene volcanic basement covered by a thick (ca.4-6km) sedimentary pile of deep to shallow marine clastic deposits mostly derived from the adjacent Central Range mountains to the west.

Sanxiantai is an area containing a beach and several islands located on the coast of Chenggong Township, Taitung County, Taiwan. The beach stretches for ten kilometers in length. It is situated at the 112-kilometer mark. A popular tourist attraction for its rocky coastal views, the area is well known for its long footbridge in the shape of a sea dragon that connects the coast to the largest island. The name Sanxiantai means "three immortals platform", referring to the island with three large standing rocks.
