In baseball, the field manager is the equivalent of a head coach who is responsible for overseeing and making final decisions on all aspects of on-field team strategy, lineup selection, training and instruction. Managers are typically assisted by a staff of assistant coaches whose responsibilities are specialized. Field managers are typically not involved in off-field personnel decisions or long-term club planning, responsibilities that are instead held by a team's general manager.

In baseball, a number of coaches assist in the smooth functioning of a team. They are assistants to the manager, who determines the lineup and decides how to substitute players during the game. Beyond the manager, more than a half dozen coaches may assist the manager in running the team. Essentially, baseball coaches are analogous to assistant coaches in other sports, as the baseball manager is to the head coach.

Luis Aparicio Ortega was a Venezuelan professional baseball personality for 40 years, serving as a player, coach, field manager, and club organizer. Aparicio was the father of Baseball Hall of Fame member Luis Aparicio.

Chang Tai-shan, is a former Taiwanese professional baseball player.

Cirilo "Tommy" Cruz Dilan is a former outfielder in Major League Baseball who played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1973) and Chicago White Sox (1977). Cruz batted and threw left-handed. He is the brother of Héctor and José Cruz, and uncle of José Cruz, Jr.

Phillip Dale, is an Australian former minor league baseball player and is currently a coach with the Australia national baseball team.

Carlos Juan Delgado Hernández is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball player. He holds the all-time Major League Baseball home run record among Puerto Rican players, with 473. He is one of only six players in Major League history to hit 30 home runs in ten consecutive seasons, becoming the fourth player to do so.

Andrew Graham is an Australian baseball manager and former player who played with the Detroit Tigers organization from 2003–2007. Graham is currently the manager of the Lakeland Flying Tigers, a minor league affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. Growing up in Australia he played baseball for the Ku-ring-gai Stealers Baseball Club.

Huang Kan-lin is a Taiwanese baseball coach. He played for the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League in center field for the Lions. He is currently retired, and is coaching the same team. He is the all-time leader in stolen bases of Chinese Professional Baseball League, with 295 in total.

Arthur Benjamin "Chicho" Jesurun was a Netherlands-Antillian baseball player, coach, manager, and scout.

Lo Kuo-chong is a retired Taiwanese professional baseball player and currently a baseball coach. He had been well known for his excellent fielding ability, which was demonstrated by setting CPBL's record of did not error in a streak of continuous 153 fielding chances during his rookie 1994 season, and was a frequent member of the Chinese Taipei national baseball team from mid-1980s to early 1990s, participating the 1988 and 1992 Summer Olympics where he won a silver medal in 1992.

Peter Michael Moylan is an Australian former professional baseball relief pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball for the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City Royals.

Micheal Yoshihide Nakamura is a Japanese-born Australian former professional baseball pitcher who played for the Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, Yomiuri Giants and Saitama Seibu Lions of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

Chris Andrew Oxspring is a former Australian professional baseball pitcher who played for a number of teams around the world.

Ryan Benjamin Rowland-Smith is an Australian former professional baseball pitcher. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks. Rowland-Smith also represented Australia in the World Baseball Classic three times and in the 2004 Summer Olympics.

Bailey Joseph Santistevan Sr. was an American baseball coach. His parents were John (Juan) F. Santistevan and Teresina Hartt of Taos, New Mexico. He played semi-pro baseball. While playing in Bingham Canyon, Utah he was asked to coach sports for Bingham High School and ended with a 101-82-19 football record.
